[2] She is half-Italian. Cook first was featured in a public service announcement for foster care at seven years of age. She then began working as a child print model at 10, including nationwide advertisements for Target as well as appearing on Milk-Bone dog biscuits' boxes. She attended Clara Barton Open School in Clara Barton, Laurel Springs School and Minneapolis South High School.
